Tulip

Tulipa spp.

Plant Details:

Plant Type: Bulb
Plant Family: Liliaceae
Plant Description: A group of flowering bulbs that vary in color, bloom time and height. Flowers are solitary and borne on stiff upright stems. Can be single- or double-petaled and practically any color except blue. Gray-green to green leaves vary from strap-like and narrow to broadly oval. As with most bulbs, tulips are drought avoiders, blooming in spring when water is abundant and lasting through the dry periods in dormancy. Unfortunately, they are a favorite treat for deer.
