Plant Description: Upright clump-forming perennial that is attractive to bees and butterflies. Spikes of deep purple flowers appear in the summer opening from the top downwards. Multiple stalks arise from basal tufts of narrow leaves. Will tolerate some drought and poor soils but prefers moderate amounts of water in fertile soils. Requires full sun. Makes excellent cut flowers.
