Ice Dance Sedge

Carex 'Ice Dance'

Plant Details:

Plant Type: Perennial
Plant Family: Cyperaceae
Plant Description: The best feature of this semi-evergreen sedge are its wide, grass-like leaves - green with creamy edges. It spreads more than other sedges, filling in areas by rhizomatous clumps. It needs moist soils, but can be used in drainage areas or low wetlands for a great effect. It does flower, but they are brown and barely worth the mention.

Maintenance:

Maintenance Type: Perennial - Herbaceous
Plant Care: Perennial - Herbaceous (soft-stemmed plants that die back in winter and regrow in spring): Remove spent blooms to promote rebloom later. Some plants tend to flop over after the first bloom and attempt to regrow from the base; in these cases, the old stems can be cut away in summer. As plants become dormant in the fall, remove dead leaves and stems.
