Plant Description: Native to glades near Nashville Tennessee, this coneflower is on the Federal Endangered Species list. It is smaller than its close cousin the purple coneflower. Magenta to purple flowers bloom in summer, with flat disks of rectangular petals surrounding a dark, cone-shaped center. Hybridizes readily with other coneflowers.
