Cat's Pajamas Catmint

Nepeta x faassenii 'Cat's Pajamas'

Plant Details:

Plant Type: Perennial
Plant Family: Lamiaceae
Plant Description: A small statured catmint that blooms earlier than other varieties in displays of indigo to purple blossoms. Upright stems are covered from soil level to the tip of the stalk in these dainty flowers. As the lowers begin to fade, rosy purple calyxes shine through and provide interest farther into the season. The seeds are sterile.

Maintenance:

Maintenance Type: Perennial - Herbaceous
Plant Care: Perennial - Herbaceous (soft-stemmed plants that die back in winter and regrow in spring): Remove spent blooms to promote rebloom later. Some plants tend to flop over after the first bloom and attempt to regrow from the base; in these cases, the old stems can be cut away in summer. As plants become dormant in the fall, remove dead leaves and stems.
