Jungle Shadows Hens and Chicks

Sempervivum 'Jungle Shadows'

Plant Details:

Plant Type: Cactus or Succulent
Plant Family: Crassulaceae
Plant Description: Low-growing perennial succulent with rosettes of thick leaves ranging from purple or pink to silver-gray with brighter purple edges and attractive rippling marks of wax. This cultivar keeps its rich coloration year-round. After blooming pink in summer, the rosettes will die but are replaced by new offset rosettes. Plants require excellent drainage and little water. Avoid excessively wet winter soil. Great choice for rock gardens, crevices, or well-drained pots. This hybrid is most likely a cross of S. ‘Silvertone’ x S. ‘Atroviolaceum’.

Maintenance:

Maintenance Type: Succulent
Plant Care: Succulent (perennials with fleshy leaves and no spines): Remove dead leaves and stems. Succulents with stems that die back in the fall may be left for winter interest or removed once dried. Trim as necessary to retain a desirable shape.
